Xiamen University offers exceptional master’s and doctoral programs, with over 19,000 students enrolled in graduate studies. In addition, about 1,500 international students are enrolled in the top-ranking graduate programs at the university, many of which are respected around the world.

The university will be seeking applicants for the 2021 academic year. Applications must be received in full no later than April 15, 2021. Each international candidate must complete an application form for international students. This should be completed in Chinese or English. This plan should detail the candidate’s intentions in applying for the program and should be written in either Chinese or English.

Two letters of recommendation, written in either Chinese or English, must also be supplied. Ideally, these letters will be from professors or associate professors who know the applicant well. Certificates for language proficiency in either Chinese or English should also be supplied, with the language determined based on the desired program and medium of study.

Each candidate must also supply a scanned copy of a regular passport. This must be valid until October 31, 2021. Applicants must provide CVs, written in either Chinese or English, as well as a foreigner physical examination form, a financial support guarantee statement, and other supplementary materials as required by individual departments or programs of study.

The university awards a number of scholarships to select candidates each year as well. These are offered as full or partial awards, with options including the University Postgraduate Program, the Silk Road Program, the Marine Scholarship, the Bilateral Program, and several others. Xiamen University was founded in 1921 by Chinese leader Tan Kah Kee. This comprehensive institution of higher education is consistently ranked among the world’s top 400 institutions and has a total enrollment of about 40,000 students. Candidates who are seeking enrollment in doctoral programs for the next academic year are encouraged to review the following admissions guidelines and to submit an application no later than April 15, 2021.

Xiamen University has announced the availability of several scholarships for new international students. These awards, founded in 2006, help fund international students who wish to study in degree programs abroad. All scholarship recipients will receive full payment of their tuition and fees, as well as select monthly living allowances. These are offered in compliance with the standards of Chinese Government Scholarships.

To be eligible for the awards, candidates should be non-Chinese citizens in good health who are able to travel for the duration of their studies. They should meet certain educational standards and age limits as of September 1, 2021.

Candidates for scholarships funding Bachelor’s degrees should hold high school diplomas or higher and be younger than the age of 25. Individuals seeking master’s degrees should hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher and be younger than the age of 40. Those who wish to apply for doctoral degree programs must be under the age of 45 and have a master’s degree or higher.
Applicants who are applying to Chinese-medium or English-medium degree programs may apply. Details on the specifics of the programs are available on the university’s website.

Candidates who are seeking Bachelor’s degrees may be eligible to receive funding for four or five years, while those enrolled in doctoral degree programs may receive four years of funding. Candidates in master’s degree programs can apply for two or three years of aid. While award recipients are eligible for multiple years of funding, it should be noted that their performance will be re-assessed on an annual basis and only candidates who have met required standards will be eligible for scholarship renewal.

There are five awards available for undergraduate study, eleven for master’s degree programs, and eight for doctoral degrees. Within those divisions, there are also various scholarship categories, with some providing only tuition with others offering tuition, fees, and even living allowance to a small amount of students.

To be eligible for undergraduate admission candidates must possess a regular passport and be able to travel. Required documents include a basic application form for international students, as well as a high school diploma or certificate of expected graduation bearing the stamp of the school. Academic transcripts must also be supplied.

Test scores of national college matriculation examinations, such as the SAT or ACT, must be submitted by the appropriate deadline. Proof of Chinese language or English language proficiency is also required. Candidates must also submit self-introduction video clips, letters of recommendation, and personal statements, as well as valid scanned copies of their passports.

The Google PhD Fellowship Program was designed to ensure that the organization continues to nurture and maintain positive relationships with the academic community. This program support graduate students financially and personally as they begin their careers and continue their PhD studies, connecting them directly to a Google Research Mentor.

This award recognizes outstanding graduate students who are conducting significant work in topics like computer science and related areas. Fellowships are currently available in China and East Asia, Europe, Africa, India, the United States, Canada, and Australia. In the United States, Canada, and Europe, accredited PhD granting universities in Computer Science or related fields may nominate two eligible students during the application period.

Invitations for the 2021 PhD Fellowship Program in Australia and New Zealand will be delivered in April 2021 and awardees will be notified by June 2021.

All students must be planning on conducting research in Computer Science or related field Common areas of interest include Systems and Networking, Mobile Computing, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Quantum Computing, Privacy and Security, and others.

Selected candidates will receive a monetary award, which will be paid directly to the university to cover expenses and provide an appropriate stipend. In Africa, candidates may be awarded a three-year Fellowship, with expenses of $30,000 to cover research related activities and travel expenses. In Australia, China and East Asia, candidates may apply for a one-year fellowship with $10,000 to cover research related activities. In Europe, candidates may apply for a three-year fellowship and receive a yearly bursary toward their stipends, salaries, and other expenses. Candidates from India may apply for four-year fellowships and receive $50,000, while North American candidates may receive a two-year fellowship with full tuition and fees plus a living stipend available.

Regardless of the country of residency, all applicants must be full-time graduate students pursuing PhDs, and ideally in their second or third years of study. Google employees are not eligible, and all candidates must remain as active, full-time students during at least two academic years of the award. After Google PhD Fellowship recipients are notified, fellowships begin the following school year.

The Paul and Marcia Wythes Center on Contemporary China at Princeton University and Fudan University School of Data Science have come together to create a combined Postdoctoral Fellowship Program: Fudan-Princeton Postdoctoral Program (FPPP). Applications are currently being accepted for two postdoctoral research associates. This program is intended for postdoctoral candidates with an interest in using data driven research to better understand modern Chinese economics and societal issues. At the end of this program candidates are expected to become leaders in their field, drawing upon their program experience from hosts, seminars, workshops, and public lectures.

The FPPP begins on September 1^st, 2018 and is intended to be two year program that spans both campuses with fellows expected to spend twelve consecutive months on each respective campus. After the first year, the performance of each candidate will be evaluated. If performance is deemed to be sufficient, the candidate may continue on to the second year in the program.

Some possible topics for research include: analyzing the systemic risks of financial and economic systems, studying the relatedness between the cost of healthcare and biological processes, and inspecting the economic mechanisms that underlie the increase of real estate in China. At the end of the program, fellows write a 10-page report based on their experience at the FPPP. Fellows are encouraged to publish with their respective hosts as Fudan and Princeton.

Funding:
Funds will vary depending on the school site. Please note that one candidate will begin at Princeton University while another begins at Fudan University. Upon successful completion of the first year, candidates will rotate to the alternate institution.

Fudan University School of Data Science:
Postdoctoral candidates are entitled to a minimum salary of 200000 RMB/year (31,289 US dollars). Fellows receive a discount on the provided housing at the University.

The Paul and Marcia Wythes Center at Princeton University:
Program candidates will receive 5,000 US dollars a month (383520 RMD/year or 60,000 US dollars). Fellows are eligible to apply for funds for travel through Princeton University and may receive employee benefits.

Eligibility:
This fellowship is open to accomplished researchers who are early in their scholarly career. Applicants to this program must have received their Ph.D. no longer than 3 years before September 1^st, 2018. Tenured applicants may not apply.

Candidates should have a keen interest in using data oriented technologies and a strong desire to apply data to study contemporary Chinese economics and society.

Qingdao University invites motivated international students to apply for its exemplary academic study and scientific research programs. Each year, the university offers the President Scholarship to encourage talented students to apply. This award funds master and doctoral degrees for international students from any country.

This scholarship, designed exclusively for foreign students, provides complete coverage of all expenses, including tuition fees, on-campus housing, living expenses, and medical insurance expenses, as well as registration fees. The award is open to any applicants who do not possess Chinese citizenship and will be between the ages of eighteen and forty in September of 2018.

All applicants must plan on pursuing a doctoral or master program as of September 2018, and should plan to follow all regulations of the Chinese government and Qingdao University while enrolled. The award is not open to candidates who have applied for or received any other funding or scholarship awards.

The University of Hong Kong announces a call for candidates for the 2018 cohort of the AsiaGlobal Fellows Program. This program is funded by the Asia Global Institute at the University of Hong Kong and related donors who believe that the future of the world relies on stronger leadership and understanding of mankind’s great challenges.

Fellowships will be awarded to sixteen candidates with outstanding leadership skills and the potential to influence politics, business, policy making, or civil society. These candidates will be mid-career professionals with between eight and twenty-five years of working experience. They must be interested in Asian public policy matters.

These individuals will develop interdisciplinary, intensive leadership development and engage in extensive networking opportunities. Fellowships extend from August 20 to November 16, 2018. This thirteen-week residential program will allow fellows access to all University of Hong Kong educational resources. It features workshops, seminars, and lectures on leadership skills.

Fellows will also embark on several trips to different Asian capitals and manufacturing centers. Several networking opportunities will be provided as fellows engage in policy research and write papers on global affairs topics. Fellows should be mid-career professionals with demonstrated leadership experience. They should have a high level of English proficiency.

Fellowships are fully funded, with housing and a monthly supplemental stipend provided. Travel expenses to and from Hong Kong, however, must be paid for by the individual fellows.

UESTC is proud to offer a multitude of scholarships to qualified students. Each year, applicants are invited to apply to a single scholarship to help offset some of the costs of attendance. Scholarships include the Chinese Government Scholarship and the University Scholarship.

The Chinese University Program is available for graduate students in various specialities. It is not open to students planning to study Management Science and Engineering, Public Management, Mathematics and Physics. The Bilateral Program consists of a full or partial scholarship. The funds from this award are directed to the authorities for overseas study of the applicant’s home country. The Sino-US Cultural Exchange Scholarship is only open for candidates from the United States, while the Exchange Student Scholarship–Europe Program is only open to candidates from partner universities of European countries. To apply, applicants should visit both the CSC Online Application Website and the UESTFC Online Application Website. Agency Number 10614 must be used within the application. All materials must be received by March 31, 2018.

The university program is only available for graduate students. As a result, recipients must complete their studies within the set time. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and qualified for UESTC admission. Applicants should be of good mental and physical health, and possess the ability to adapt easily to life and study in UESTC.

UESTC also offers a scholarship for new students. Although the application period is the same as the previously listed scholarships (December 20th, 2017 to March 31st, 2018), it is designed exclusively for graduate students. There are several classes of awards available. The first-class scholarship provides full funding, and is available for both master and PhD applicants. The Chinese University Program scholarship was established in 2008 by the Chinese Ministry of Education to support Chinese universities in specific provinces and autonomous regions. This scholarship provides financial support so that these universities can recruit exceptional full-time graduate students.

The award provides a full scholarship covering tuition, accommodations, a modest stipend, and medical insurance. Students will be provided with free university housing (typically a twin room), or a monthly subsidy for off-campus housing (in the amount of no more than CNY 1,000 per month). Recipients will also be allotted a stipend of up to CNY 3,500 per month. The scholarship will last anywhere from two to four academic years, depending on program of study.

An eligible applicant will not be a registered student in any Chinese university, or a Chinese citizen at the time of application. Applicants for master’s degree studies must be under the age of thirty-five and have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree by September 1st, 2018. Applicants for doctoral studies must have a master’s degree or equivalent and be under the age of forty by the same date. Students who have been granted any other Chinese government scholarship may not apply.

All programs are offered in either Chinese or English. As a result, successful applicants will be proficient in either language. To apply, students should log into the online application system and select Type B. They should submit a recent photo and completed application form, along with an application for university admission. They should also submit a photocopy of their passports, study or research proposals, CVs, two letters of recommendation from professors or associate professors, a photocopy of foreigner physical examination forms, and proof of language proficiency. Finally, all applicants must submit photocopies of degree certificates and academic transcripts.
