The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation is actively seeking potential leaders who are interested in developing their own project ideas and embarking on the experience of a lifetime. The German Chancellor Fellowship is open to students from India, Russia, China, and the United States, and allows scholars to work closely with hosts of their own choosing to build unique projects.

The fellowship features a monthly stipend ranging from 2,170 euros to 2,770 euros, depending on qualifications. It includes attentive individual mentoring during the fellow’s stay in Germany, as well as financial support for family members, travel expenses, and German language study. The fellowship also features cultural study tours of Germany as well as social networking events with representatives from German companies and institutions. Fellows are given the resources to make connections with alumni of the program as well, helping them to collaborate and gain professional experiences.

The fellowship exposes candidates to contemporary issues in their individual fields of study, allowing them to make long-term public impacts. Fellows are expected to expand their knowledge in their topic area while working in Germany, as well as to gain experiences in intercultural skills. Once the fellowship has ended, fellows will act as intermediaries between Germany and their host countries.

The program commences in August in Germany with a significant two-month German language course. Reductions or extensions of this course can be granted if necessary. In October, fellows then move on to a seminar in Bonn and then Berlin. These seminars provide fellows with the training and insights necessary in social, political, economic, and cultural life in Germany. After this period, fellows then work on their individual projects for eleven months.

Eligible candidates are those who completed a first degree less than twelve years ago and are interested in spending a year working on self-designed projects. Applicants should be able to demonstrate that their projects are of social significance. They should also indicate how the project has potential to make connections between Germany and the applicant’s host country. Applicants from the political, economic, media, administration, and cultural sectors are encouraged and invited to apply.

In addition to evidence of a degree completed no more than twelve years ago, fellows must also submit documentation evincing proven leadership experience, as well as a two-page letter of motivation and a three-page project plan. Two references and a host statement must also be supplied. All application materials must be received no later than October 15, 2022.

Stanford University’s Bechtel International Center invites students to apply for the prestigious Churchill Scholarship.

The Churchill Scholarship provides funding to American students for a year of Master’s study at the University of Cambridge, Churchill College. The program was created by an initiative of Sir Winston Churchill to support his vision of US – UK scientific exchange for advancing science and technology on both sides of the Atlantic.

This award is open to U.S citizens who will be between the ages of 19 and 26 when the program begins. Candidates must be recent graduates (within the past year) or seniors at Stanford, and they must first be nominated by an authority at Stanford University.

This award has an on-campus process necessitating a nomination. Therefore, there are two deadlines that all applicants should be aware of – a universal deadline and a campus deadline. The university can nominate two candidates for the selection process. The campus deadline is in October while the universal deadline is in November. Applying is a lengthy ordeal and may require several months to prepare for. In order to be eligible, candidates must have already applied for admissions at a graduate program at University of Cambridge and Churchill College.

To apply, interested candidates should submit a University of Cambridge application form. This can be found on the Cambridge website. The online scholarship application must also be completed by October 15. This, too, is available online. Applicants must supply four recommendation letters and a cover form by October 15.

The rest of the required documents should be emailed directly to Diane Murk at dmurk@stanford.edu by October 15. Required documents include a Stanford Churchill Cover Sheet, a nomination form waiver, and a PDF copy of the application.

With the application, candidates should also submit a proposed program of study, detailed in a one-page essay. A two-page personal statement is also required, as is a record of correspondence with the Cambridge laboratory supervisor. This may be done via email but it should indicate a confirmation that the student will be accepted into the laboratory. All candidates must also supply official transcripts, both those from university study at Stanford as well as those from any summer program, study abroad programs, or previous institutions.

There will be fourteen awards granted, each ranging between $45,000 and $50,000. The scholarship covers all college and university fees and tuition. It also includes a generous stipend for a living allowance, research allowance, travel allowance, and any application fees for a U.K. visa.

The Winsor School is a top academic school designed to prepare young girls in grades 5-12 for postsecondary success. The school encourages students in grades 5 through 11 to apply, with those in the younger grades given special consideration.

While every candidate is valuable at Winsor, the admissions committee looks diligently at girls who have extreme intellectual curiosity and tenacity, as well as a spirited nature and the motivation to succeed. Applications are currently being accepted for 2019-2020 starting in late August 2018. The admissions process, which commences in September, generally ends in January for admission in the following year.

Because the school does not have SEVIS certification, international students or those with foreign residencies cannot be accepted. To apply, each student should begin by completing a preliminary application, which includes a student application to be completed by mid-January. A school administrator evaluation, English recommendation, and math recommendation must also be submitted by this time.

Each student is also encouraged to visit and engage in an interview between mid-September and January. Before arriving for a visit, the only item that must be submitted is the preliminary application. Each visit includes a thirty-minute tour and a thirty-minute interview. Open houses and school fairs are also available.

Following submission of the application, students should take the appropriate standardized test. This must be done by mid-December. Girls in grades five through seven should take the Independent School Entrance Exam, while those in grades nine through eleven should take the SSAT. Students applying to grades nine and above are also encouraged to take the Character Skills Snapshot to give the admissions committee a better view of their holistic character.

Candidates interested in applying for financial aid should submit all materials by February 15. Winsor offers significant tuition assistance to families who qualify. Winsor’s comprehensive tuition starts at $48,400, with the average aid award ranging from $28,900 to $42,000 for needy families.

Google invites United States residents who are eager to master web and mobile development skills to apply for their prestigious Developer Scholarships. These scholarships allow students to learn valuable skills to launch or advance their careers as mobile or web developers. The curriculum is developed by experts from Google and Udacity and allows students to excel in a rapidly growing community of developers across the country.

Applicants must be at least eighteen years old and residents of the United States. Students may choose from either a Web Developer or Android Developer track. Once students have applied and selected a learning path (and, of course, accepted to the program), they will be placed in either a Beginner or Intermediate training track. Top students in each track will earn full scholarships to Android or Web Development Nanodegree programs.

There are twenty-five thousand seats available in the web developer track. No programming experience is required, and students will engage in a three-month program with access to Intro to HTML + CSS with support from Udacity mentors. Students will learn how to design and build stunning, engaging websites. The top 1,500 students from this program will be awarded scholarships.

In the mobile developer track, students will receive a three-month training in Android basics. They will learn how to build Android apps and learn Java development. Again, the top 1,500 students will be awarded scholarships to the more intensive six-month study program.

The application process takes only about ten minutes. All applicants, regardless of experience level or track, will complete the same application. Training in this program, as well as the application process, all takes place entirely online.

All applications are due November 30, 2017. Recipients will be notified December 7 2017 and the program begins on December 11, 2017. Questions about the application process or program may be directed to scholarships-support@udacity.com.

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program awards several grants to United States students and young professionals to study and/or conduct academic research at universities within EU Member States. Topics of study must include EU policies, EU institutes and the American-European Union agenda. Grants are available for students with Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degrees.

Four total awards are available, for a grant period of six to nine months. The grant will last from September through June, with specific start dates negotiated directly with host institutions. Applicants may propose an area of research or study in one to three different countries. If a student is interested in studying in multiple countries, at least three months must be required in each European Union member state. The orientation date for the program will be supplied either by the Fulbright Commission or by the United States Embassy in the country of research.

To apply, students should submit a project proposal that focuses on the observation of comparative perspectives of issues of concern. These issues should be ones that involve both the United State and the European Union, such as:

internal and external security

peace-keeping

the EU and NATO

justice and home affairs

finance

trade

human rights

agricultural and environmental policies

energy

asylum

human trafficking

development

EU enlargement

Other topics may also be accepted. Proposals should relate to EU competencies and not simply Europe or countries within Europe. There should be a holistic value to the project. Successful applicants will exhibit personal, academic, and creative excellence, along with a strong research rationale and plan. They will be strong leaders and clearly indicate how their studies will benefit American-European Union relationships during and after their grant periods.

Applicants should be proficient in the language of their chosen country, though this is not a mandatory component of the application process. TO apply and for more information, students should visit http://www.fulbrightschuman.eu.
