The She Entrepreneurs program is a well-established leadership program for female entrepreneurs in the Middle East and North Africa region. Open to applicants from a range of countries, the program helps talented women take their business initiative and acumen to a higher level.

Candidates from the following nations are invited to apply: Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Syria, Yemen, Tunisia, Palestine, Egypt, and Algeria. Applicants should have a strong business vision and be interested in acquiring the tools and methods needed to develop their businesses. It is designed for women who have already begun building their businesses, and are interested in making them more effective and valuable. The program offers personal and professional development that lead toward the development of an equal and sustainable society.

In addition to providing women with the opportunity to develop their business initiatives and to acquire personal skills, it grants them access to innovative tools and entrepreneurial skill development. Candidates will leave the program with a finely tuned knowledge of topics like communication, sales, finance, funding, branding, and business development. They will be granted individual feedback on their business initiatives from leading entrepreneurs and mentors, and will also gain access to a powerful and prominent network of like minded women.

The program is separated into two and a half weeks, each divided into two modules at different times. This intensive program offers a full-day schedule and multiple evening activities. The first module, held in Stockholm, Sweden from June 9-20, is set up with a practical approach that includes workshops, lectures, and networking. This first module is dedicated to developing a personal business initiative and acquiring knowledge of topics like funding, communication, marketing, and business modeling.

The second module will be held held in Stockholm, Sweden from September 15 to 21. The focus of this module will be to build and expand a business network through hands-on activities like workshops, meetings with mentors, and seminars.

All costs are covered and arranged by the Swedish Institute, including training, accommodations, food, domestic transport, flight tickets, insurance, and visa costs. Selected candidates are only responsible for domestic travel and airport transfer in the home country and insurance when modules are located outside of Sweden.

To apply, candidates must download and fill out the She Entrepreneurs 2019 application form, and upload the completed form, an updated CV, and contact information for two reference persons. In response to the current financial crisis in Europe, the European Central Bank has developed an integrative workshop on money markets, central bank balance sheets, and monetary policy implementation. This workshop brings together central bankers, academic experts, and actual practitioners to collaborate on reasons for and possible solutions to common issues. The workshop covers developments in money markets, central bank operational frameworks, and monetary policy implementation.

The program recognizes the way in which both secured and unsecured money markets have been impacted by financial and sovereign debt crises, as well as by regulatory reforms and other changes in finance, innovation, and infrastructure. Many banks, as a result of these crises, have resorted to non-standard measures of operation, such as negative interest rates and increased, easier access to liquidity.

Applicants to this program may submit applicants on a range of relevant topics. For example, they may choose to discuss the transmission of monetary policy through money markets, or engage in the effects of negative interest rates on money markets. Other common topics include the integral role of central bank collateral frameworks, along with the future outlook for money markets.

To apply, interested candidates should submit a paper with a topic of interest by June 30, 2018. These applications should include a clear statement of whether the candidate would like to discuss a paper. All accepted applicants will be notified by the end of July.

This year’s workshop begins on Tuesday, November 6 and ends on Wednesday, November 7. All program speakers will be reimbursed for travel and accommodation costs. Applications for the FINCAD’s Women in Finance Scholarship are now open and will be accepted until June 30, 2018. FINCAD was initially developed in 1990 by two men with a vision of making investment information available, accurate, and transparent to clients.

The scholarship program is designed to help women transition into the fast-paced world of finance, as a majority of the industry’s current practitioners are men. The goal of this scholarship is to provide women with the support necessary to succeed in finance, especially regarding the use of derivatives in capital markets and financial risk management.

The scholarship is open to female practitioners of any age who are studying Finance at an accredited post-graduate program. The award is granted in the amount of USD 10,000 to help support women as they embark on graduate-level studies.

Female citizens of all countries are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will be enrolled in a post-graduate program at a nationally or internationally accredited university, and planning to attend on a full-time basis for the 2018-2019 academic year. All materials, including supporting documents, must be in English. University transcripts may be in the applicant’s native language.

Applicants will also be asked to submit a resume or CV, as well as two letters of recommendation for the scholarship from individuals who know the candidate well, such as professors, university staff, employers, or colleagues. University transcripts and confirmation of acceptance into a post-graduate program, as well as any authored papers, should also be supplied.

When logging on to the online application system, it is important to note that applicants must use the same username and password each time they make changes. This will allow them to edit and save their applications before submitting them. Once an application has been submitted, it cannot be modified.

Offering six courses over two sessions, along with an extensive and stimulating social program, the Imperial College Business School’s Summer School is an excellent opportunity for students to experience life in London. This program is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students and allows students to improve their academic standing in one of the most culturally profound cities in the world.

The Summer School program provides academic credit and serves as a great boost for a resume or CV. While enrolled, students will study at a global top ten ranked university while experience an enriching curriculum in the center of London. Numerous networking and social opportunities will be provided as well.

Two sessions are available, with the first beginning on July 2 and ending on July 20. Available courses in this session include Accounting for Decision Makers, Entrepreneurial Smart Camp, and Principles of Finance. The second session extends from July 23 to August 10, with available courses including Business Strategy and Consulting, Strategic Marketing, and Topics in Finance. Each program of study exposes students to a diversity of mindsets, opinions, and experiences.

These courses are open to any current undergraduates or postgraduates, provided that they have less than five years’ work experience. Applicants must be either studying towards or already have been awarded a degree. Most accepted applicants will have high grades, achieving an Upper Second Class Honours degree or the equivalent. Imperial College MSc and PhD students may not apply. There may be additional, course-specific grade requirements as well.

The World Bank invites qualified students to apply for the Winter Internship program. Applications are open until October 31, 2017. This internship allows motivated students the opportunity to improve their skills while working in a fast-paced, diverse setting.

Candidates must currently hold an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a full-time graduate study program. This may be as a Master’s degree or PhD with plans to return to school full-time. Typically, successful applicants are those who have completed their first year of graduate studies, or are already enrolled in a PhD program.

Fluency in English is required, as is relevant work experience. Preference is given to candidates with computing skills and knowledge of languages such as French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Portuguese, and Chinese.

The internship is open to candidates studying within the fields of economics, finance, human development (public health, education, nutrition, population), social science (anthropology, sociology), agriculture, environment, private sector development, and several others. The internship provides an hourly salary, along with an applicable allowance towards travel expenses.

Interns must arrange and finance their own living arrangements in the city of the internship. Most positions will be held in Washington, D.C, though some are held in partnering locations. All are at least four weeks long. The internship is offered during the summer (June-September), as well as the winter (December-March). The latter period is now accepting applications.

All materials must be submitted online. In addition to an online application, students must submit a curriculum vitae (CV), statement of interest, and proof of enrollment in a graduate degree. The Fulbright U.S. Student Program awards several grants to United States students and young professionals to study and/or conduct academic research at universities within EU Member States. Topics of study must include EU policies, EU institutes and the American-European Union agenda. Grants are available for students with Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degrees.

Four total awards are available, for a grant period of six to nine months. The grant will last from September through June, with specific start dates negotiated directly with host institutions. Applicants may propose an area of research or study in one to three different countries. If a student is interested in studying in multiple countries, at least three months must be required in each European Union member state. The orientation date for the program will be supplied either by the Fulbright Commission or by the United States Embassy in the country of research.

To apply, students should submit a project proposal that focuses on the observation of comparative perspectives of issues of concern. These issues should be ones that involve both the United State and the European Union, such as:

• internal and external security
• peace-keeping
• the EU and NATO
• justice and home affairs
• finance
• trade
• human rights
• agricultural and environmental policies
• energy
• asylum
• human trafficking
• development
• EU enlargement

Other topics may also be accepted. Proposals should relate to EU competencies and not simply Europe or countries within Europe. There should be a holistic value to the project. Successful applicants will exhibit personal, academic, and creative excellence, along with a strong research rationale and plan. They will be strong leaders and clearly indicate how their studies will benefit American-European Union relationships during and after their grant periods.

The United Nations recently developed a program designed to recruit talented, exceptional young professional for work with the United Nations Secretariat. The Young Professionals Programme (YPP) aims to increase participation of countries that are underrepresented in the United Nations. Applicants must take the YPP examination, which is held once a year.

Successful applicants will hold a first-level university degree that is relevant to the desired subject area in the application. They must also be fluent or native speakers of English or French and be under 32 years of age. If more than forty candidates apply from the same country, other qualifying information (such as work experience and knowledge of UN languages) may be used.
If your application is successful, you will be sent an invitation to take the examination, which consists of a general paper, specialized paper, multiple choice items, constructed response items, and an oral examination. Successful candidates will be notified in July and will remain on the roster of candidates for two years. If they are selected from the roster, they will be offered a two-year term contract with the Secretariat.

FINCAD has established a $10,000 award for women learning Finance in a credited graduation/ level program for academic year 2017-2018. It is geared toward supporting exceptional women in the field, giving them an opportunity to foster their skills and cultivate their knowledge, especially linking to the use of capital market contracts and/or risk advisors.

FINCAD recognizes that presence of men in Finance-related occupations is much higher than that of women, and that the gap is not narrowing as quickly as it should. Believing that comprehensive market knowledge, transparency, plus trustworthiness play a serious role in making the financial markets safe for all, and realizing that the field is changing rapidly in response to regulations, they are offering this scholarship to women of all nationalities and ages.
