The Gates Cambridge Scholarship program was founded in 2000 through a generous donation from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This program, the largest ever donation to a UK university, awards scholarships to students from over 100 countries and has over 1,000 alumni around the world.

These scholarships are granted to exceptional applicants from countries outside of the UK so that they can pursue postgraduate study in any subject at the University of Cambridge. Scholars should have outstanding intellectual ability and strong leadership potential, as well as a commitment to bettering the lives of others. Applicants should also demonstrate a strong fit between the applicant’s qualifications and goals with the program of study for which they are applying.

To be eligible, candidates must be from any country besides the United Kingdom and have applied for full-time study at the University of Cambridge in a PhD, MSc or MLitt, or one year postgraduate course (such as an MPhil, LLM, MASt, MBA, etc). Current students are also eligible to apply if they are applying for new postgraduate courses. Individuals who are planning on enrolling in a BA, MBBChir Clinical Studies degree, MD Doctor of Medicine degree, part-time degree, or non-degree bearing course are not eligible to apply.

US citizens should apply by October 12, 2022 for the 2023 year. All other applicants should apply by either December 1, 2022 or January 5, 2023 (depending on the intended course of study). Each applicant will be departmentally ranked in October through February (this is done in two rounds) and shortlisted between December and March. Interview will be conducted in late January and late March, with scholarships offered in the next few weeks following those dates. Selected candidates will have forty-eight hours to accept the scholarship award.

Applications are currently being accepted for the 2021 Facebook Fellowship Program. This program was developed to support and encourage aspiring doctoral students who are involved in relevant, groundbreaking research in areas such as engineering and computer science.

These awards are granted to students in any year of PhD study, and applicants may be from a long list of accepted universities. However, the award is designed to support minority groups who are traditionally underrepresented.

Each application will be evaluated based on the strength of the research statement, recommendation letters, and publication records, if available. Award winners will receive two full years of paid tuition and fees, along with a stipend of $37,000 and $5,000 in travel and conference support. Applicants will also have all of their expenses paid for a visit to Facebook headquarters during the yearly Fellowship summit.

To be eligible to apply, interested candidates must be full-time students currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program and an ongoing research study. Applicants from any accredited university in any country may apply. The research area must be relevant to a specific set of disciplines and research areas, and the candidate must be actively enrolled during the year in which the fellowship is awarded.

If you are interested in conducting unique, innovative research in archaeology, you should consider applying to the Department of Archaeology at the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History. This year, the department announced five three-year, fully funded PhD positions and is seeking applicants.

A number of disciplines will be considered eligible for the positions, including, but not limited to, biomolecular archaeology, geoarchaeology, Paleolithic archaeology, archaeobotanical methods, environmental change, ZooMS, and anthropogenic extinctions. Candidates who believe that they have unique and innovative ideas to contribute should apply.

In general, the department is seeking applications for projects that will support the four critical themes of the department. These include Climate and Society, Globalization, Biological and Cultural Diversity, and the Anthropocene. Projects should consider a multidisciplinary approach, and should focus regionally on the continents of Asia and Africa.

In these positions, candidates will work beneath the umbrella and guidance of departmental staff. They will be able to access all laboratory research facilities as well as other resources and cutting-edge tools. In Return, applicants should be backed by significant laboratory, field, or other research experience. They should have a solid working knowledge of archaeology, particularly in a multidisciplinary format. This should include things like excavation as well as scientific analysis, research, and publication.

Qualified candidates will be those that work well in teams, and that propose topics that cover things like the fragile relationship surrounding human behavior and climate change, as well as the general long-term impact of humans on biology, society, biodiversity, landscapes, and more.

Successful applicants will have some publication experience, as well as experience in communicating scientifically to the public. Applicants should either be in possession of or about to receive a Master’s degree or its equivalent in Archeology, Chemistry, Biology, Archaeological Science, Geoarchaeology, Biomolecular Archaeology, or a related field. Candidates should know have strong examination record as well as training in the methodological specialism. They should also have experience with proposed lab and field techniques, and solid time management skills.

The working environment will be in English, and candidates will receive funding for three years. To apply, candidates should submit a detailed cover letter and a two-page research proposal. This proposal should demonstrate the applicant’s ability to plan and implement a project in the chosen area of research. Newcastle University announces the availability of this year’s Overseas Research Scholarship, an award valued at approximately £11,490 to £17,700 per year. Fifteen awards will be given, with an average award period to exceed no more than three years (the normal duration of the PhD).

This award is designed to honor the best and brightest international students in their pursuit of research programs. A small number of awards are given to outstanding international students who intend to begin their studies (in any subject) in the 2019-2020 academic year.

Candidates are eligible to apply if they have already been offered positions in PhD research programs, and have been assessed as international or overseas students. They should be wholly or partially self-financing, and planning to begin their studies in the 2019-2020 academic year. Candidates may not have already started their courses, and must have already been offered places on PhD research programs.

Applicants must be planning to study at the Newcastle campus. Courses that are based in London, Singapore, or Malaysia are not eligible for funding. Candidates must have already applied to and been offered a place to study at Newcastle University. Master’s courses are not eligible.

In order to apply, candidates should complete and submit the Newcastle University Overseas Research Scholarship application. In the application, candidates will supply information about their present and previous qualifications, include pre-university qualifications and professional examinations to be taken. Information about work experience, publications, and the proposed course of research must also be supplied.

The World Bank offers multiple opportunities designed to improve capacity development and knowledge sharing in the developing world. These efforts serve to enhance economic development by investing in education and strengthening human resources in these countries.

The World Bank Scholarships Program has formed a pool of over 6,000 well-trained, highly qualified professionals who serve to transform their countries and impact future generations in a productive, positive manner. Today, the program offers two sources of funding for graduate studies in development. These awards are designed for mid-career professionals and researchers.

Applications for the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program will be open in March, as will those for the Robert S. McNamara Fellowships Program. The latter award was established in conjunction with the governments of Peru, Pakistan, Nigeria, Kuwait, China, India, Bangladesh, and the former Yugoslavia.

The Robert S. McNamara Fellowships Program provides support to nationals of developing countries who are also PhD candidates. It offers between six and ten months of funding (with maximum awards of $25,000) to candidates to conduct research in a World Bank member country other than the fellow’s home country or nation of residence. Applications for this program will be accepted until April 23, 2020.

To be eligible for any World Bank Scholarship, candidates must be nationals of a World Bank member developing country and not hold dual citizenship with a developed country. Candidates should be thirty-five years of age or younger and be enrolled in a PhD program in a member developing country of the World Bank.

All coursework and exam requirements for attaining a PhD should have been completed, with the target thesis for all applications centering on some field of development. Candidates who are staff members or relatives of staff members of the World Bank Group are not eligible to apply.

Interested applicants may submit the completed application form, along with an agreement to the terms and conditions for a fellowship. They should also supply two completed recommendation forms: one from the host university research advisor and one from the PhD thesis supervisor. All application materials must be uploaded online.

The Google PhD Fellowship Program was designed to ensure that the organization continues to nurture and maintain positive relationships with the academic community. This program support graduate students financially and personally as they begin their careers and continue their PhD studies, connecting them directly to a Google Research Mentor.

This award recognizes outstanding graduate students who are conducting significant work in topics like computer science and related areas. Fellowships are currently available in China and East Asia, Europe, Africa, India, the United States, Canada, and Australia. In the United States, Canada, and Europe, accredited PhD granting universities in Computer Science or related fields may nominate two eligible students during the application period.

Invitations for the 2021 PhD Fellowship Program in Australia and New Zealand will be delivered in April 2021 and awardees will be notified by June 2021.

All students must be planning on conducting research in Computer Science or related field Common areas of interest include Systems and Networking, Mobile Computing, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Quantum Computing, Privacy and Security, and others.

Selected candidates will receive a monetary award, which will be paid directly to the university to cover expenses and provide an appropriate stipend. In Africa, candidates may be awarded a three-year Fellowship, with expenses of $30,000 to cover research related activities and travel expenses. In Australia, China and East Asia, candidates may apply for a one-year fellowship with $10,000 to cover research related activities. In Europe, candidates may apply for a three-year fellowship and receive a yearly bursary toward their stipends, salaries, and other expenses. Candidates from India may apply for four-year fellowships and receive $50,000, while North American candidates may receive a two-year fellowship with full tuition and fees plus a living stipend available.

Regardless of the country of residency, all applicants must be full-time graduate students pursuing PhDs, and ideally in their second or third years of study. Google employees are not eligible, and all candidates must remain as active, full-time students during at least two academic years of the award. After Google PhD Fellowship recipients are notified, fellowships begin the following school year.

The Niehaus Center for Globalization and Governance at Princeton University invites applications to eight positions for the 2019-2020 academic year Visiting Fellowship Program. This award is designed to encourage elementary research in the areas of international and comparative political economy, globalization, and international organization and global governance.

Individuals who are interested in researching topics such as the causes and consequences of globalization, monetary and regulatory policies, the domestic and international politics of human development, or the sources of international cooperation at hate global and regional level are encouraged to apply. Candidates who wish to study the political economy of foreign trade and the political economy of security issues, as well as the politics of international law and human rights policies, are also invited to apply. Their research will have particular relevance.

Scholars may be from anywhere in the world but should have backgrounds in political science, modern history, law, business, anthropology, economics, sociology, or related disciplines. Candidates should expect to be in residence for the entire fellowship, which will last from September 2019 until July 2020.

For full consideration, all applications should be submitted by Friday, November 30, 2018. The window will stay open if the posting is not filled at this time. Interested candidates should complete the online application form via the Princeton website.

In an effort to create a society in which information is universally accessible, Google has partnered with EmployAbility, an organization dedicated to assisting individuals with disabilities pursuing further education, to create a dynamic scholarship program. This program is designed for university students who are planning to study computer science, informatics, computer engineering, or a related technical field at a European or Israeli university.

To be eligible, applicants must be full- or part-time students for the 2018-2019 academic year, and must have some form of disability. Applicants must have strong academic records and show exemplary leadership skills and a passion for Computer Science. Google employees may not apply, nor may individuals younger than 18 years of age.

To apply, candidates must submit a general information application and also supply a resume, transcript, and short answer responses. Each essay question responses should be around 400 to 600 words in total. When writing the essays, candidates should keep a technical format in mind. This means that writers should first supply an overview of the problem, a sample approach to the key technical challenges, a resolution, and conclusions.

Candidates must also request a letter of recommendation, and evidence that they are planning to enroll in a Bachelor’s. Master’s. or PhD program in computer science or a related field. All materials must be submitted via the online form. While international students may apply, those who hail from embargoed countries will not be considered.

Selected applicants will receive an award equivalent to 7,000 Euros. Ten candidates will be selected in total, with the award designated for tuition, fees, books, supplies, equipment, and related expenses. Funds will be distributed directly to the award recipient.

The Harry Ransom Center, housed within the University of Texas at Austin, invites exceptional young postdoctoral and dissertation candidates to apply for their 2019-2020 Research Fellowships.

Ten dissertation fellowships and fifty postdoctoral fellowships will be awarded. Projects should be those that require significant on-site use of collections. These collections are related to all aspects of the humanities, including (but not limited to) cultural history, music, arts, literature, film, and photography.

Several fellowships will be awarded. One- to –three- month fellowships are available for postdoctoral or independent scholars. These scholars must require extensive use of the collections housed within the Ransom Center. Dissertation fellowships must also require use of the center’s resources, but for dissertation work. These fellowships are available in the amount of $2,000 per month, while those who are engaging in postdoctoral or independent scholarship may receive up to $3,500 per month.

In addition to these generous stipends, monies are also available for travel. Travel stipends are available for both postdoctoral and independent scholars. These projects should require less than a month of use of the collections, but these travel awards cannot be combined with other fellowships or awards. All fellows, regardless of the category, may receive an additional $500 stipend, paid in a single payment. These awards are for individuals who are citizens of countries other than the United States, and are intended to fund J-1 visa application expenses and international travel to Austin.

Fellowships are available to candidates of any nationality. Short fellowships and travel stipends are only open to candidates with Ph.D.s or substantial records of previous professional achievement. Applicants must have received their Ph.D.s by June 1, 2019 in order to be eligible.

Applications can be submitted on the Ransom Center’s online application system. All documents should be submitted as a single PDF. Candidates should submit a three-page proposal and two letters of recommendation. Proposals should be composed in English and include details about the proposed research project such as materials needed and how the project relates to the overall goals and mission of the Ransom Center. A brief curriculum vitae should also be submitted. All materials must be received by November 15, 2018 at 5 P.M.

The M.S. Merian – R.Tagore International Centre for Advanced Studies “Metamorphoses of the Political: Comparative Perspectives on the Long twentieth Century”, operated through the India Branch office, announces the availability of several junior and senior fellowships for 2018-2019 and 2019- 2020.

This program is funded by the German Ministry of Education and Research and is housed in New Delhi, India. The fellowship program is intended for senior and postdoctoral scholars who are focusing their research on themes such as History as a Political Category, Labor as a Political Category, Critiques and Renewals of Democracy, Normative Conflicts and Transformations, The Challenge of Gender, and Political Economy of Growth and Distribution.

Senior fellowships are designed to last for six months, with a stipend or reimbursement paid to the home institution of the candidates. Each fellow will also receive airfare costs and a housing allowance for accommodations and living expenses in Delhi. Junior fellowships last for seven months. Candidates will again receive a stipend, along with a housing, visa, and travel expense allowance.

Any applicant from a related social science or humanities discipline may apply Senior faculty should be tenure or emeritus faculty, while postdoctoral fellows must have already defended their doctoral dissertation. Applicants must possess strong command of the English language, as well as Indian if required by the individual research project.
