The She Entrepreneurs program is a well-established leadership program for female entrepreneurs in the Middle East and North Africa region. Open to applicants from a range of countries, the program helps talented women take their business initiative and acumen to a higher level.

Candidates from the following nations are invited to apply: Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Syria, Yemen, Tunisia, Palestine, Egypt, and Algeria. Applicants should have a strong business vision and be interested in acquiring the tools and methods needed to develop their businesses. It is designed for women who have already begun building their businesses, and are interested in making them more effective and valuable. The program offers personal and professional development that lead toward the development of an equal and sustainable society.

In addition to providing women with the opportunity to develop their business initiatives and to acquire personal skills, it grants them access to innovative tools and entrepreneurial skill development. Candidates will leave the program with a finely tuned knowledge of topics like communication, sales, finance, funding, branding, and business development. They will be granted individual feedback on their business initiatives from leading entrepreneurs and mentors, and will also gain access to a powerful and prominent network of like minded women.

The program is separated into two and a half weeks, each divided into two modules at different times. This intensive program offers a full-day schedule and multiple evening activities. The first module, held in Stockholm, Sweden from June 9-20, is set up with a practical approach that includes workshops, lectures, and networking. This first module is dedicated to developing a personal business initiative and acquiring knowledge of topics like funding, communication, marketing, and business modeling.

The second module will be held held in Stockholm, Sweden from September 15 to 21. The focus of this module will be to build and expand a business network through hands-on activities like workshops, meetings with mentors, and seminars.

All costs are covered and arranged by the Swedish Institute, including training, accommodations, food, domestic transport, flight tickets, insurance, and visa costs. Selected candidates are only responsible for domestic travel and airport transfer in the home country and insurance when modules are located outside of Sweden.

To apply, candidates must download and fill out the She Entrepreneurs 2019 application form, and upload the completed form, an updated CV, and contact information for two reference persons. They should also upload a photo. Once the application process is complete, about sixty shortlisted candidates will be called for interviews.

Candidates with profound leadership experience, exceptional professional backgrounds, and outstanding ambition are encouraged to apply for a master’s degree in Sweden via a fully-funded Swedish Institute scholarship.

These awards are for master’s studies starting in the fall semester of 2022, with applications opening on February 10, 2022. 180 awards will likely be granted, with recipients beginning their studies in October 2022. Usually about one to two percent of all applicants are awarded a scholarship.

This award covers tuition fees paid directly to the Swedish university of choice, as well as living expenses of up to SEK 9,000 per month. A travel grant of 15,000 SEK is also provided, as is comprehensive insurance against illness and accident. All award recipients also receive membership to two professional organizations: the SI Network for Future Global Leaders and the SI Alumni Network.

The SI Network for Future Global Leaders is an organization in which students can grow their personal and professional networks while studying in Sweden, while the SI Alumni Network assists students after their scholarship period, helping them gain professional entry and development opportunities, as well as to stay in touch with past program participants.

The scholarship does not cover the costs of the application fee to University Admissions, nor does it cover additional expenses for family members. The award spans full-time study for one- or two-year master’s programs, and is only awarded starting in the fall semester. It is granted for two semesters at a time, but can be extended for programs longer than two semesters as long as the student has made satisfactory progress toward his or her credits.

To be eligible, candidates must have at least 3,000 hours of demonstrated full- or part-time employment, internship, or voluntary work experience. Demonstrated leadership experience and evidence of citizenship from an eligible country are also required. Applicants are expected to pay admissions fees to the university, and may be required to meet other eligibility criteria as well.

To apply, interested candidates should submit a motivation letter and a Curriculum Vitae of no more than three pages. Two letters of reference, proof of work and leadership experience, and a copy of the applicant’s passport must also be supplied. All materials should be submitted during the February application period, as competition is fierce and late materials will not be accepted.

Each year, Campus Gotland at Uppsala University offers several unique Bachelor programs in Game Design. These programs are all delivered entirely in English and allow students to study full time or up to three years on a picturesque, one-of-a-kind campus located on an island in the Baltic Sea.

Available programs include Game Design and Graphics, Game Design and Programming, Game Design and Project Management, and Energy Transition–Sustainability and Leadership.

To apply, applicants should submit a formal application through the online portal via the Uppsala University website. This website also allows students to apply to and rank interest in other Swedish universities with a single application. In the portal, applicants should also submit an application fee of SEK 900. The application fee must be processed in order to complete the application.

Uppsala also awards several scholarship to tuition-paying international students. These scholarships are available through the university as well as through related organizations, such as the Swedish Institute. More opportunities and information on how to apply can be found on Uppsala University’s Financial Aid web page. Official academic transcripts and results on English language proficiency exams may also be submitted through this portal.

Students should apply between October 16, 2017 and January 15, 2018. Programs begin in the fall of 2018. Students interested in housing may be eligible for guaranteed housing. As long as applications are received on time, and as long as the applicant confirms enrollments, a student dormitory room can be provided for a nominal expense. This also applies to students who plan to receive scholarships.

In addition to financing housing costs, attendees must also plan on paying application and tuition fees for study in Sweden. Tuition ranges between SEK 50,000 and 72,500 per semester. These fees do not apply to individuals who are from Sweden or a European Union partner country.

For obtaining Swedish residence permit, the Swedish Migration Agency requires to have a minimum of SEK 80 640 in a bank account for one academic year, SEK 161 280 for two academic years, and SEK 241 920 for three years.

Karolinska Institute invites students to apply to its exceptional undergraduate programs. One program is offered exclusively in English, the Bachelor’s program is Biomedicine, while other undergraduate programs such as medical and dentistry are taught in Swedish.

To apply to the English-speaking Biomedicine program, students should follow a series of specific instructions. Documents should not be sent to the University Admissions office in Sweden before the online application has been submitted. This application can be found at universityadmissions.se.

There are two application rounds for bachelor’s studies commencing in the fall of 2018. The first deadline closes on January 15 while the second closes on April 16. Applicants who have completed high school already are advised to apply for the earlier deadline, as are applicants who will need to apply for a visa. The second and later deadline is designed for nationals as well as EU/EEA applicants. Students who have not yet completed their final year of high school must apply in the April 16 pool as well.

To apply, students must complete secondary school and have proficiency in English that is equivalent to the level of the Swedish upper secondary school course English 6/English B. IB students who are applying for the April 16 deadline will need to request an early result from the IB coordinator at the school. Applicants must also have completed secondary level courses in Biology 2, Chemistry 2, Mathematics 4, or the equivalent.

Proficiency in the English language must be demonstrated. This can be done through the TOEFL or similar exams. All documentation for university and secondary school transcripts must be provided in English. Once you have submitted all materials, the University Admissions team will evaluate your upper secondary school courses. They will utilize country handbooks developed by the Swedish Council for Higher Education.

Mälardalen University in Västerås, Sweden invites Master’s program candidates to consider applying for their full scholarship awards. These scholarships are now available for the academic year of 2018-2019. They cover 100% of all tuition and fees, so long as the recipient completes 22.5 credits per semester, or 45 credits a year.
Scholarship applicants must be applying to Mälardalen University as their first choice for a graduate program. All supporting documentation must have been submitted within the required deadlines. All materials must be received by February 2018, with the online application itself submitted no later than January 2018. The application fee must also have been paid.

When applying, students should list their first choice program and course for full time study. If admitted, the student must delete all other alternatives. If a student is required to pay the application fee, admission is conditional until this has been paid.

The scholarship is designed for qualified students from countries outside of the European Union. The scholarship is not open for students from the twelve countries with which Sweden has long-term development cooperation, including Bangladesh, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia. Students must be from countries whose citizenship would ordinarily require them to pay tuition and fees at Mälardalen.

The award does not cover living expenses. Students will be responsible for these costs. In addition, if a scholarship recipient’s status changes from being a fee-paying student to a non-paying student, then the scholarship will be revoked.

Notification of scholarship recipients will occur in April 2018. Very few scholarships will be awarded, as the process is highly selective. Recipients must report for introduction week in August 2018 (a specific date will be announced at a later time). Applications can be obtained and submitted at www.universityadmissions.se.

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program awards several grants to United States students and young professionals to study and/or conduct academic research at universities within EU Member States. Topics of study must include EU policies, EU institutes and the American-European Union agenda. Grants are available for students with Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degrees.

Four total awards are available, for a grant period of six to nine months. The grant will last from September through June, with specific start dates negotiated directly with host institutions. Applicants may propose an area of research or study in one to three different countries. If a student is interested in studying in multiple countries, at least three months must be required in each European Union member state. The orientation date for the program will be supplied either by the Fulbright Commission or by the United States Embassy in the country of research.

To apply, students should submit a project proposal that focuses on the observation of comparative perspectives of issues of concern. These issues should be ones that involve both the United State and the European Union, such as:

• internal and external security
• peace-keeping
• the EU and NATO
• justice and home affairs
• finance
• trade
• human rights
• agricultural and environmental policies
• energy
• asylum
• human trafficking
• development
• EU enlargement

Other topics may also be accepted. Proposals should relate to EU competencies and not simply Europe or countries within Europe. There should be a holistic value to the project. Successful applicants will exhibit personal, academic, and creative excellence, along with a strong research rationale and plan. They will be strong leaders and clearly indicate how their studies will benefit American-European Union relationships during and after their grant periods.
