Coventry University in Coventry, United Kingdom is pleased to announce a call for applications for the prestigious Global Entrepreneurship Scholarship. This scholarship is intended to fund one qualified international postgraduate student as he or she seeks a MA in Global Entrepreneurship at the university.

This scholarship is designed with self-motivated students in mind. The recipient of the award will have the unique ability to embed entrepreneurial principles into his or her own life. The award is open to recent graduates as well as aspiring entrepreneurs and those already employed by a larger organization with the goal of setting up a new project. This program is offered by the International Centre for Transformational Entrepreneurship in conjunction with Coventry.

One award will be given and will fund approximately half of the recipient’s tuition fee for an entire year. Only applicants who have received conditional offers of admission for the MA Global Entrepreneurship program will be considered. If selected, the recipient must successfully enroll in postgraduate study for September 2018 at Coventry. The award cannot be combined with any other university scholarship or tuition discount.

In addition, eligible students will be self-funded and prepared to pay international tuition fees. They should not plan on progressing to Coventry through their partnership with Cambridge Education Group or ISC London. The selected student will serve as a student advocate along with being a scholar, and will be required to help the International Office by promoting the university, contributing to a blog, conducting interviews, or engaging in similar activities.

To apply, interested candidates should complete an application form, available on the Coventry website. This form may be returned via email to scholarships.io@coventry.ac.uk or mailed to the International Scholarship Team at Coventry. All materials must be submitted no later than July 13, 2018.

Each year, the Westerwelle Foundation hosts a conference in Berlin. This conference is known as the Young Founders Conference and is part of a fully funded, yearlong program to bring together gifted entrepreneurs from several developing and emerging economies. This year, the goal of the conference is to provide an opportunity for young founders to convene with each other and to interact with the German startup community.

Participants will have the ability to interact with other entrepreneurs, as well as potential investors and policy makers. The conference, which is held from October 16 to October 20, is just a small experience within this yearlong endeavor. Membership in the Westerwelle Young Founders Program provides participants with a mentoring program, as well as monthly mentoring calls with an experienced entrepreneur. Candidates will also receive special scholarship sand invitations to various entrepreneurship conferences, and become part of an international alumni network.

Young Founders will be between the ages of twenty and thirty-five years old, although those who are younger and older are also encouraged to apply. Candidates would be working in some sort of entrepreneurial pathway, but other individuals are encouraged to apply, including those working in a VC fund, incubator, or accelerator. However, funding will only be granted for entrepreneurs.

All expenses, including travel and accommodation for the conference, are covered by the Westerwelle Foundation. In exchange, all fellows are expected to participate in the conference, mentoring calls, and other planned activities to the fullest extent possible. Additional costs, such as travel insurance, visa costs, and personal expenses must be covered by the participants.

Applications are due no later than June 25, 2018. All candidates, whether selected or not, will be notified by July 9, with Skype interviews granted starting July 10. A final selection of candidates will take place August 10, with notification sent on August 13.

Applications for the Open Society Fellowship are now open. This fellowship is designed to encourage positive debate and discussion surrounding economic issues, recognizing that new, dynamic methods of governance, entrepreneurship, financialization, and ownership are needed to fight inequalities in economic systems. While applicants are encouraged to possess backgrounds in business or economics, any relevant proposals will be considered.

Fellowships are awarded for one year, with a stipend of $80,000 to $100,000, depending on work experience and current income. This fellowship allows candidates to work on projects of their own choosing, so long as they address the topic listed above. Fellows will have access to and are expected to take advantage of the resources of the Open Society Foundations. Fellows may work with one another in a cohort setting as they nurture both political and theoretical change.

The ideal fellow will be one who can see beyond his field alone and work tenaciously to compose a meritorious project. Applicants may hail from anywhere in the world, although proficiency in both spoken and written English is expected. Applicants should be willing to work with a diverse team and to utilize all of the resources the foundation has to offer.

This fellowship is not intended to fund enrollment for study at any academic institution, including funding for dissertation research. Only individuals may apply for this award, proposals from organizations will not be accepted.

To apply, interested candidates should submit a letter of inquiry online by midnight on July 15, 2018. This letter should outline the topic of the project and the proposed final product. The letter must be able to detail the relevance of the project to the proposition. A CV should also be included.

All letters will be reviewed in full within six weeks, with those showing promise being invited to submit a full proposal. Full proposals will include a preliminary project budget and other supporting materials. Questions can be directed to osfellows@opensocietyfoundations.org.
