The European Parliament offers talented candidates the opportunity to apply for several traineeships within its Secretariat. These are designed to foster vocational training and to encourage knowledge acquisition about the goals and function of the European Parliament. Each term, 21,000 people apply for these traineeships, out of which 900 are selected.

Traineeships are awarded to qualified candidates for a period of five months. To be eligible, candidates should be eighteen or older and hold a university-level diploma. Candidates must also meet a language requirement and provide an eligible criminal record. Selected recipients will not have worked for more than two consecutive months within an EU institution or body, or have carried out a visiting academic position for six months or more prior to the start of the traineeship.

Several batches of applications and traineeships will be processed. The first traineeship takes place between October 1 and February 28, for which applications are due by Jun 30. For the March 1 to July 31 traineeship, applications will be received and processed by November 30. Applications that are submitted after these deadlines will not be considered.

To apply, candidates should register for an account online. Then, they should complete the online application form through their accounts. This form allows for the uploading of a CV (in Europass format), along with a motivation letter. This letter should be no longer than one page. Although several traineeship offers will be available, each candidate may only apply for up to three offers per campaign. Submission of copies of an ID or passport, university diploma, criminal record, and residency certificate must also be submitted.

Offers will be sent for the October traineeship by the 15th of September. For the March traineeship, candidates will be notified no later than the 15th of February. Questions may be directed to EP-Traineeships@europarl.europa.eu.

The Building Opportunities for Leadership and Development Internship Program is sponsored at Google and is designed to partner motivated undergraduate seniors with potentially long-lasting careers at Google. The program exposes historically underrepresented students, such as those of Black, Hispanic, or Native American descent, to career opportunities in the industry. Students with disabilities and veterans are also encouraged to apply.

The program is open to candidates from any school, and is intended to prepare entry-level talent to be ambassadors for inclusion. Candidates may be placed at any Google location, including those in Mountain View, CA, San Francisco, CA, Boulder, CO, or any other site.

Interns will engage in specifically targeted training to expose them to all of the learning and development and support system programs offered by Google. Each candidate will have access to 1:1 mentorship, a speaker series, and other community-building opportunities. At the end of the internship, all BOLD interns will be considered for available full-time roles at Google, depending on their performance.

Interns are placed according to their backgrounds and interests, but may engage in employment in a number of fields. For example, appointments are available in the Sales, Services and Support, Marketing and Communications, and People Operations departments (among others). Interns will be granted significant responsibilities during the course of their internships, and will be expected to provide meaningful contributions.

Interns must be in the third year of a full-time BA/BS program, and have authorization to work in the United States. Candidates should also have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. They should have an interest in the technology industry and Google’s business in particular.

To apply, interested candidates should visit the Google website and submit a resume in English, as well as applicable contact details. Applications will be accepted until November 12, 2018, with interviews held until April 2019. These will be performed on a rolling basis. Internships will begin in late May or early June of 2019 and will last up to eleven weeks.

Jobs at Apple are rewarding and enriching, both personally and professionally. They are available in a wide range of fields, including in stores, corporate workings, and at home. Apple also offers several internship opportunities to qualified students.

On November 9, 2017, Apple announced the Data Science and Machine Learning Internship through Apple Maps. This job is located in Santa Clara Valley, California and requires a full forty hours of work a week.

The intern will join the Apple Maps Routing and Traffic team in 2018. This team works on some of the most challenging and significant big data issues in the modern computer engineering field. The group works to make sense of petabytes of data in order to deliver critical navigational functionality for the millions of users who depend on the success of Apple Maps.

This internship is a great opportunity for a motivated, talented student looking to apply his or her coding and machine learning skills to a large, significant application. The ideal intern will have experience in machine learning theory and practice, in particular neural networks and sequence-based models. He or she will also have used machine learning software such as Python Sci-Kit, TensorFlow, Weka, MATLAB, or R. The successful candidate will have in-depth experience in Java or Python, along with CS fundamentals and object-oriented programming. Experience with Hadoop or Spark is an additional bonus.

This internship will allow the candidate to practice skills necessary to develop novel solutions to improve the quality of traffic information, routes, navigation, and ETA using large-scale streaming data. Interns will work closely with experts in machine learning and traffic and solve interesting data-driven projects. Interns should be currently enrolled in Ph.D. studies in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Civil Engineering (Traffic with a data science focus), or a related field.

The Facebook Artificial Intelligence (AI) Research Residency Program seeks applicants for its 2018-2019 program. This one-year residency is designed to give candidates hands-on experience in machine learning research. Successful residents are paired with senior researchers or engineers, who will serve as mentors. Throughout the duration of the program, researchers will work to research a problem of mutual interest and incorporate new techniques to solve that problem.

Collaboration will occur both with the mentor and with other departments. Research will be communicated by the submission of papers to top academic venues, such as NIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, and others, as well as open-source code releases. This is a full-time program that cannot be undertaken with any other employment or studies.

Upon completion of this residency, participants will be prepared for graduate programs in machine learning or to begin a successful research career in the field. Applications are encouraged from individuals with strong technical backgrounds who are passionate about AI research. Applicants with prior experience in machine learning are given preference, but this is not a requirement. Those with backgrounds in math, physics, finance, economics, linguistics, computational social science, and bioinformatics are encouraged to apply.

The successful applicant will have a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and coursework in Linear Algebra, Probability, and Calculus. He or she will also have coding experience in languages such as Python or C/C++. They will also have familiarity with platforms such as PyTorch, Caffee, Theano, or TensorFlow.

Residents will be based in Facebook Menlo Park and New York. If work visas are required, they may be obtained. Residents will learn how to perform research in deep learning and AI, and will understand prior work and existing literature. They will work with research mentors and translate ideas into code. They will also write up research results in academic papers.

Applicants should complete the online application and submit a CV/resume that includes links to GitHub, professional webpages, publications, or blog posts. They should also provide personal statements and academic transcripts.
