The Harvard Business School has launched a new program specifically tailored to help aspiring African executives reach their potential. The Senior Executive Program – Africa promises to strengthen your leadership skills and develop your insight into local, regional, and global markets.

The continent of Africa is a diverse home of various cultures, nations, economics, and politics. These differences create both unique business challenges and opportunities. To be successful, Africa’s leading executives must design and execute effective strategies for growth both inside and outside the continent. They must also create innovative offerings, nurture high-performance teams, and navigate rapid change in Africa’s markets. This program will explore the approaches of successful African leaders and prepare you to compete effectively, seize growth opportunities, and sustain success for your organization.

The course is comprised of three modules. The first will take place August 5 – 10, 2019 at Port Louis, Mauritius. The second module will consist of an independent business challenge project, which will last August 11 to November 30, 2019. And finally, the third module will occur at the Harvard Business School campus in Boston, MA, December 1 to 6, 2017. These modules will help you build the knowledge, perspective, and confidence necessary to become an effective leader and accelerate your company’s growth. The course will also give you the chance to interact with and learn from other senior leaders across Africa.

What will you study while participating in this course? It will immerse you in best practices in designing winning strategies, enabling innovation, establishing competitive advantage, leading effectively, improving governance, and more. The course is designed to maximize learning while minimizing your time away from work. That is why the second module of the course gives you a chance to apply your learning to a special project that will contribute to your organization’s success.

The Boustany Foundation announces a substantial new scholarship opportunity for students planning to enroll in Harvard University’s MBA program. The Harvard MBA program, which is one of the world’s leading business programs, is taught at one of the world’s most exclusive universities.

Harvard University’s MBA program focuses on developing leaders. Graduates of the program learn how to develop the skills necessary for the implementation of change and innovation. It prepares them to be productive business people and members of society.

The Boustany Scholarship is granted once every other year for a two-year program of study at the Harvard Business School. This award provides recipients with financial aid in the amount of $45,000 per year (up to $90,000 total for two years) to be used towards tuition fees. It also provides funding for travel and accommodation expenses related to the internship.

Recipients of the scholarship will be expected to complete a two-month unpaid internship with the Boustany Foundation. Projects will vary in duration and nature, but all will be related to the activities of the Foundation or its close partners.

Successful applicants must have already received a letter of admission to the Harvard MBA program. Students should show exceptional academic background and considerable promise in the field of business. Although the scholarship is open to applicants of any nationality, students of Lebanese descent will receive first consideration.

The scholarship will be awarded for the class beginning in the Fall of 2019. Interested applicants should submit a curriculum vitae with a photograph, GMAT scores, and an acceptance letter from Harvard University. Successful candidates will be invited to interview with the Foundation interview committee, after which point a final candidate will be selected and awarded the scholarship. The Harvard Business School invites qualified applicants to apply for the upcoming 2018-2019 academic year. Applicants must possess a four-year undergraduate degree at an accredited United States college or university. Students who are college seniors may also apply to the 2+2 program. International students may meet this requirement through a three-year bachelor degree program.

Candidates must also take the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or Graduate Record Examination (GRE). As a component of the GMAT exam, students are required to complete both the AWA portion and the Integrated Reasoning portion. Non-native English speakers must also submit results from the TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE.

In addition to the above requirements, applicants should submit a written application that includes official college transcripts. Although the Admissions Board carefully reviews each student’s GPA, they will also take into consideration the school that was attended, courses attempted, and overall performance.

In an effort to better understand its incoming class, the Harvard Admissions Board also requires students to complete an essay addressing the question: what more would you like us to know as we consider your candidacy for the Harvard Business School MBA program? There is no word count requirement for this question. If you are applying jointly for the Harvard Medical School, Harvard School of Dental Medicine, Harvard Law School, or Harvard Kennedy School, you must answer an additional question in roughly 400 words: how do you expect the joint degree experience to benefit you on both a professional and personal level?

Students must also submit two recommendations attesting to personal qualities, skills, performance, and background. Questions, along with the appropriate recommendation form, can be supplied to your recommenders on the application’s website. Additionally, applicants should submit an updated business resume or CV and a nonrefundable application fee of $250.

After your application has been reviewed, you may be invited to interview. The interview does not guarantee admission but does indicate that you are among a final review. Interviews may be conducted on-campus, over the phone, or through Skype. They are roughly thirty minutes long and require each candidate to submit a written reflection after completion.
