Several colleges at the University of Cambridge are accepting applications from international students wanting to pursue a short course of study at the university. The courses will begin in October and last one academic year, and the available courses are typically at a first- or second-year level of study. At the end of the year, you will be expected to take an examination.

Fitzwilliam College has five spaces available and welcomes applications from Junior Year Abroad and Erasmus+ students. You must have completed at least one year of university-level coursework and earned high marks. The college will not accept applicants in the fields of architecture, law, medicine, and veterinary medicine.

Homerton College is only accepting applications from non-degree seeking students under the support of the Erasmus+ and DAAD funding schemes.

Lucy Cavendish College has 20 spaces available and accepts applications from visiting students who want to study at Cambridge for a full academic year and will be 21-years-old when they start the year. You must possess a strong academic record, and applications are due March 1. The college will not accept applications from those in the fields of architecture, medicine, or veterinary medicine.

Magdalene College only has two spaces available, and it welcomes DAD, Erasmus+, or Junior Year Abroad applicants. The application deadline is November 15, and you must submit a curriculum vita, academic transcripts, references, financial support details, and a statement from your home university approving your application. The college will not accept applicants in the fields of architecture, law, mathematics, medicine, or veterinary medicine.

Newnham College has two spaces available and primarily accepts Junior Year Abroad applicants from Columbia. However, strong applications from Studienstiftung and DAAD students from Germany and Erasmus+ students from EU countries may be considered. The college’s application deadline is January 31.

Pembroke College limits its applicants to one-year visiting Studienstifung and DAAD students from Germany, but Erasmus+ students from other EU countries are also welcome. Applicants from the United States are eligible, too, including Junior Year Abroad students from the University of Chicago, Columbia University, Brown University, Butler University, and Occidental College. The college’s application deadline is January 31.

Peterhouse College has three spaces available and welcomes applications from students in the fields of economics, history, history of art, and philosophy. If you are a German student, you may also take mathematics and natural sciences courses. You must demonstrate strong academic performance to be considered, and the college only accepts those who wish to study for a full academic year. Applications from Erasmus+, Junior Year Abroad, and DAAD are also considered, and the deadline to apply is January 31.

Finally, Robinson College also accepts applications from one-year visiting students. It limits applicants to Studienstifung and DAAD students from Germany; Erasmus+ students from EU countires; and Junior Year Abroad students from Cornell University and Columbia University. The application deadline is November 13, and the college will not accept applications in the fields of architecture, medicine, or veterinary medicine.
