University of Bordeaux International Post-Doctorate Program

The University of Bordeaux invites talented international researchers to conduct new and innovative projects in one of Bordeaux’s state-of-the-art research laboratories. This award provides support to researchers from all disciplines, and from all over the world, to work in world-class facilities. Funding is provided for a two-year postdoctoral contract as well as project-related fees such as travel.

Fellows must hold a doctorate degree awarded by a non-French institution. They must not have resided in France for more than twelve months over the last two years. Fellows should not currently hold, or have previously held, a research position in Bordeaux. Applicants will submit their own unique research project to be carried out in a laboratory of their choosing for a maximum of two years. Successful recipients will begin research contracts in July 2018.

To apply, applicants should submit proposals via the web-based application page on the portal. All documents must be attached before applications can be reviewed. The proposal should include a specific scientific environment, agreement of a local laboratory, and several other documents such as the actual proposal, ethical issues document, and short CV. The applicant should also include a major achievements list, as well as cover letters, signed letters of support from the local mentor and director of host laboratory, references, and a copy of a PhD certificate.

Applications will be reviewed by a panel consisting of researchers and external reviewers. Each proposal will be evaluated based on the research experience and ability of the applicant, along with the relation between the candidate’s profile and the research project. The proposed project itself will be evaluated based on the scientific and technological quality and nature of the project, as well as the structure of the project. Applications are due by November 26, 2017, and decisions should be published in April 2018. Interested candidates should contact Carlos Mendoza at 05 40 00 67 52 with any questions.
