Johns Hopkins University

Johns Hopkins University invites qualified students to apply for fall admission. Each year, the admissions team conducts a search for students who can think beyond their personal boundaries in order to elevate themselves and those around them.

The admissions process includes a well-rounded application review by the admissions team. Interested students should submit an application and supplement, secondary school report, two teacher evaluations, standardized exams, and a mid year report.

The application can be completed via the Common Application. The supplement includes the standard Common Application essay, along with an additional Johns Hopkins-specific essay. As an alternative to the Common Application and Johns Hopkins supplement, a Coalition Application can be completed. This application is more specific to the university and can be found on their website.

For the secondary school report, the university requires guidance counselor recommendations, transcripts, and a high school profile. Two teacher evaluations should be submitted by the teachers who can provide the best and most accurate insight on the student and his or her work. Schools should also submit ta mid-year report (including updated transcripts) directly from the school no later than February.

The SAT Reasoning Test or the ACT examination are required of all first-year applicants. The writing section of the ACT is optional, as is the essay component of the redesigned SAT.

The university also welcomes qualified international and transfer applicants. The university is committed to connecting qualified international students with the resources needed to become engaged community members.

Early decision applicants should submit all materials by November 1, 2017. Regular admission applicants should apply by January 3, 2018, and transfer applicants may wait until March 1, 2018. International applicants should submit TOEFL results by November 1 and apply early.

For answers to questions or to apply, students should email the admissions office at gotojhu@jhu.edu
