Ivy League is a group of eight universities in the North East of the United States, who initially formed a sports league of their university teams. The league then often referred to the eight schools as a group beyond the sports context, the universities are considered the most reputable and prestigious in the world. All eight universities are in the top twenty of the U.S. News & World Report 2017 rankings.
