This award, financed in full by the Scholarship Foundation of the Republic of Australia, promotes research for a period of one to four months. Eligible areas of study include Natural Sciences, Human Medicine, Health Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities, Arts, and Technical Sciences. Recipients of this scholarship receive a monthly award of 1,050 euros, along with health insurance. The award also funds accommodations in the range of 220 to 470 euros. Travel costs for applicants from countries that are not members of the European Union can also be funded.
All applications are due in September 2018. A new call for applications will be released in May 2019. Applicants should be descendants of forced laborers, regardless of their native countries, or people from countries that suffered significantly from the Nazi regime. Research can be in any of the previously mentioned topics and can provide coursework towards the completion of a bachelor thesis, diploma or master thesis, or dissertation. This scholarship may not be used for summer courses, studies in Austria, clinical experiences, or internships. Applicants who have pursued research within the last six months are not eligible to apply.
To apply, interested candidates should complete an online application form. A CV and project plan must also be supplied, with the latter listing completed preparatory work towards the stay in Austria. Two letters of recommendation are also required, as is a confirmation of supervision by a supervisor. Copies of passports and graduation certificates are also required. Applicants who are descendants of forced laborers must submit processing numbers of photocopies of letters of information.
