Washington University in St Louis

The vibrant Washington University community invites qualified international students to apply for its superior undergraduate degree programs. To be eligible, students must have completed at least twelve years of primary and secondary studies. A diploma is required as evidence of this completion.

To apply, students should submit several documents, including original academic transcripts, a description of the grading system, and results from examinations such as the IGCSE, HKCEE, A-levels, or national exams. Copies of school-leaving certificates must also be supplied, as should English translations of all documents (if necessary). All academic records should include transcripts of all completed work and formal studies beyond secondary school, if applicable, and subjects covered during each year of study. Records should also indicate the duration of time of each course, lectures or laboratory periods included, and marks received.

In addition, all students whose first language is not English should submit copies of scores on the TOEFL or IELTS. Results from the ACT or SAT are also required to apply for first-year admission to Washington University. Washington University also accepts credit for studies completed at another college, as well as scores achieved on AP, IB, or British A Level examinations.

International students seeking to improve their skills in speaking English will enroll in courses specifically designed for advanced learners. These courses are particularly helpful for English language learners, as they will help with skills such as reading and writing, presentation, and knowledge of idiomatic expressions.

Once admitted to Washington University, the university can issue eligibility documents needed to obtain F-1 or J-1 student visas. Documents may only be issued after applicants have been officially admitted into a program of study and proven their ability to fund programs of study.

Common Applications should be submitted by January 2 (or November 1 for Early Action). Scholarship and fellowship applications are due January 5. Questions may be directed to admissions@wustl.edu.
