The Center for the Study of Democratic Politics (CSDP) at Princeton University seeks applicants for its visiting scholars fellowship program. This program hosts post-doctoral and/or visiting scholars for the 2018-2019 academic year. Fellowships will support empirical research on democratic political processes and institutions. Applicants from any career stage are welcome to several positions, but a PhD is required for the specific Visiting Research Scholar position.
Scholars will pursue original research and contribute to the Center, the Department of Politics, and the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. Scholars must remain in residence at Princeton for the duration of the academic term, and will participate in weekly CSDP seminars as well as weekly related research seminars in the Department of Politics. They will also engage in occasional lectures, conferences, and other events.
Several positions are available, including the Visiting Research Scholar positions Visiting Research Scholar positions will only be granted to employed scholars on leave who will eventually retune to their positions. Other candidates may apply to the Postdoctoral Research Associate/CSDP position.
Successful candidates will receive a competitive salary, along with applicable benefits, moving allowance, and a research allowance. Verification of employment and salary are requested ahead of time, which must come from an administrator. Applicants should submit a CV, a 3-5 page statement of research, a writing sample, a brief statement of estimated salary support, and statement of the home institution’s leave policy. Applicants may also submit optional cover letters.
