The Deerfield Academy, located in idyllic Deerfield, Massachusetts, invites qualified high school students to apply to its prestigious preparatory programs. The admissions process is complex, requiring a number of steps, but is easily outlined on the Deerfield website for interested candidates.

Each student is encouraged to submit his information and request a personalized view book. Interested students should submit a Request for Information form on the Deerfield website, after which they will receive a mailed copy of the view book. This view book details academic coursework, financial aid, and other extracurricular opportunities available at the school.

Next, students are encouraged to visit campus and engage in a one-on-one interview. This should be done between June 2018 and January 2019 for Fall 2019 admission. While a campus visit is ideal, Skype interviews are also available for families who, due to financial or logistical issues, may not be able to visit campus. Students are also required to submit standardized test scores prior to application. Ideally, this should be done between August and January of the year prior to desired enrollment.

Once ready to apply, students may apply online via the Gateway to Prep Schools website. This gateway allows students to submit an application as well as all supplementary materials. This portal also allows students to create candidate profiles that will provide them with checklists of admissions materials and admissions status updates.

Students who intend to apply for financial aid should submit all financial statements and supporting documentation by January 15. January 15 is also the ideal date for all applicants seeking priority consideration to apply. In some cases, Deerfield will also accept late applicants (meaning those that apply after January 15). Although enrollment can only occur in September, late applicants may apply by following separate guidelines from those applying regularly.
